Become a Patron of the Arts
During April, the Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature is establishing a String Project at the Yancey Elementary School. We are providing violins through the Hardy Instrument Library. As the program develops, we hope to expand to the Scottsville Elementary School. We need financial assistance in outfitting violins we will be utilizing for this program.
On May 3rd, the Honey Dewdrops are giving us two performances to raise funds to support our music outreach initiatives with the public schools.
Please consider helping us with this much needed program. Imagine Southern Albemarle students having the chance of learning a string instrument in the third grade. Up to this point, they have not been given this opportunity until sixth grade. By offering instruction earlier, these students have a chance to explore their potential giving them the edge they need for success.
